Pair of French Empire Flambeaux belonging to the early 19th century. The central shaft features the figure of a burnished bronze woman carrying a two-light stump on her head. The stump is characterised by two winged griffins terminating in long tails and carrying posacera on their heads. The woman rests on a sphere which in turn rests on a triangular base in satin-finished bronze ending in a claw foot. Provenance France, early 19th century. Measurements: 15 x 15 cm, H 67 cm.
