Item description

French Louis XV tombeau chest of drawers in exotic wood with France red marble top. The band under the top has two large drawers that can be pulled out by means of finely chiselled gilded bronze handles. The second and third drawers are unique and are also removable by handles. The two cantons are embellished with bronze elements depicting busts of women and end in cabriolet shoes. At the sides it has a curvilinear movement embellished by the herringbone woodwork. The base is mixtilinear and is adorned with a central medallion in gilded bronze. The drawer bottoms are all solid walnut and the locks are original to the period. In good condition.
