Svane oak and wool daybed by Igmar Relling for Ekornes, 1970s

A true code of Norwegian minimalism and purity, this Scandinavian oak Svane daybed accompanies you day and night. The Svane daybed or sofa was designed by Ingmar Relling for Ekornes and produced in the 1970s. It functions as a bed when fully open and also has a compartment for sheets and blankets. The table moves easily up and down and has a specific stop point. The solid oak frame combined with a light ash-coloured natural wool cover gives the impression of simplicity and elegance at the same time, a classic of modern Scandinavian design. The daybed was checked by our team. We made sure that all the mechanisms work properly. On many occasions, we have to sand the most used parts (if they are heavily scratched). Here we only cleaned with professional compounds and preserved with Danish oil. We leave small signs of use that do not spoil the aesthetics and only confirm originality. We try to restore it to its best appearance, always considering that it is 60 years old. Overall, fantastic condition, with slight traces of use. New foam and upholstery.
