Red-sommerso Murano glass vase by Giorgio Nason, 1980s
SILVER Seller in Milano, Italy
Red incamiciato glass vase with a lattimo interior by Giorgio Nason, Vetreria di Murano. Also known as 'sommerso', it is a decorative technique that allows several superimposed layers, sometimes of different colours with suggestive chromatic effects, to be obtained in the same object. The 'sommerso' was very popular in the 1930s. It is obtained by dipping glass in different colours.
