Item description

Chalice-shaped table lamp from Seguso's Scavo collection, 1970s. Made of "scavo" glass, a type of ornamental glass with a rough surface and a matte finish imitating antique glass, similar to that which emerged during archaeological excavations. The effect is achieved by sprinkling the surface of the incandescent glass, after shaping it, with a mixture of high-melting oxides and low-melting salts; the outside is thus opaque, while the inside remains shiny.
