Item description

This bookcase consists of four independent modules that can be moved and placed at will in the home. It consists of five uprights, is equipped with nine shelves, two lockers with two doors, two lockers with two drawers each, a large locker with two doors, and an extraordinary cupboard with a flap door, available as a secretaire. It is a versatile item that offers plenty of storage space and can be used in any decor, whether for the home or office. Original from the 1950s, made of red teak wood and finished with brass details, it is overall in excellent vintage condition, as the pictures show, with slight signs of wear and tear due to age and use. If all objects designed and produced by Vittorio Dassi are always elegant and charming, this teak wood collection must also be added to his great achievements. It was so well designed with the collaboration of Edmondo Palutari, one of Dassi Mobili Moderni's main in-house designers. This line of furniture has been instrumental in establishing DMM (Dassi Mobili Moderni) as one of the best-known and most innovative Italian brands on the international interior design market since the 1950s, thanks to its mix of aesthetic design and fine materials such as warm teak wood, as well as its functional assembly system that can be assembled without tools, with no screws at all (see last picture). A unique selling proposition, the reason why they were considered among the most innovative bookcases of the 1950s. Articles that are identical or part of the same design line are published in: - Irene de Guttry and Maria Paola Maino, "Il mobile italiano degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta" (Editori Laterza 1992), p.151 E/o: - "La Rivista dell'Arredamento" - March 1959 - "La Rivista dell'Arredamento" - April 1959.
