Item description
Sicilian lectern in white and green lacquered wood, late 19th century (around 1870). Specially designed to display and hold old books with a touch of elegance and sophistication. This lectern is a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of the Sicilian craftsmen of the time. The design of the lectern reflects a mix of traditional Sicilian motifs and European influences prevalent during that period. At the top is a sloping surface, specially designed to hold open books and make reading and viewing easier. The base of the lectern is supported by elegantly carved legs which add to its stability and serve as a beautiful addition to the overall design. These legs, adorned with subtle green and white detailing, elevate the lectern, allowing it to take center stage in any room where it is displayed. It has slight fading.
