Item description
Brillo floor lamp by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, 1970s. Designed in the 1960s, it is an excellent example of Italian Space Age style. It is made of hand-blown white Murano glass but, thanks to the innovative use of a red glass tube that surrounds the bulb and remains inside the white glass, the lower part appears orange when lit. The lower and upper parts are connected to each other by a steel ring, typical of Nason's style. The lamp is in very good original condition: it has been cleaned and the metal parts polished. The underside has a completely invisible repair once the lamp is assembled. Someone had ensured the stability of the rim or repaired the glass chip using epoxy resin instead of glass; from a technical point of view it is absolutely justified, especially since the rim covers it completely. This does not affect the functionality and appearance after applying the element with the bulbs but you can see it when the lamp is separated into its component pieces. It requires two E27 bulbs. It comes with original wiring with 185 cm long cable and original switch. Upper part diameter: 40 cm. The lower part is 50 cm high, 40 cm wide and deep.
