Item description
Pair of Universale 4869 chairs by Joe Colombo for Kartell, 1960s (designed in 1967). This chair is characterized by a minimalist and elegant design that has made it a cult object in the world of furniture design. It has an essential and timeless shape, with a comfortable but also elegant curved seat and backrest. The choice of black color adds a touch of sophistication and fits well with a variety of settings and furnishing styles. The material used is polypropylene, a lightweight and durable plastic that was at the forefront of 1960s design. This material allows the chair to be used both indoors and outdoors. It is called "Universale" because of its ability to adapt to different situations and environments. It was designed to be versatile, suitable both for use in residential environments as a dining or study chair, and for public environments such as waiting rooms and offices. Joe Colombo's design has been awarded and recognized in the design world and the Universale chair is one of his best-known masterpieces.
