Item description

Antique Flemish painting from the end of the 17th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting scene of tavern interior with characters of good painterly hand. Painting of good size and pleasant decoration for antiquarians, interior decorators and collectors of antique Flemish painting. Painting of great character with finely depicted card players in the background. It has a monogram in the bottom right-hand corner (see photo) that is currently being studied. Work that has undergone conservation restoration with the addition of 3 small patches on the back to fix some tears (see photo). Non-coeval carved, ebonised and gilded wooden frame (see photo) of pleasing impact. Painting part of a pendant (see photo and ask for block price if available). In fair condition with some signs of restoration and colour fading. In need of restoration. Light painting H 70 X W 60 cm.
