A distinctive and original German ceramic jug in orange and black. It has an innovative, modernist shape; the beautiful, vibrant colours are balanced and proportioned in keeping with a minimalist design. The glazing of the jug was achieved by first applying one colour and firing it in a kiln, then the same process was carried out for the other colour. The mark on the bottom tells us that the object was created in a limited series, the jug is number 484 and 21 is the model number. It was produced between 1968 and 1971 in a craft workshop in the city of Dresden, (then in West Germany), an important centre of porcelain and ceramic production. Fat lava' is the name given to a certain style of West German art pottery that became popular in the post-war period, characterised by an extravagant amount of shapes, glazes, textures and typical colours ranging from dark brown to orange, forest green to cobalt blue, ruby red to canary yellow. The production strategy of the craftsmen of this style involved rather simple and strict shapes that, in combination with all the different decorations and coloured enamels, resulted in a very wide range of pieces. Our jug has beautiful, harmonious proportions and, thanks to this strong personality, can be incorporated into any style of décor. The jug is in excellent condition. Measures width diameter 22 cm, height 25 cm. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, polystyrene, etc.) to ensure maximum protection and safety of the items.
