A distinctive and original German ceramic jug coloured in a beautiful shade of red, black and a vibrant orange. It has a simple but at the same time innovative and modernist shape; the beautiful and vivid colours are balanced and proportioned in a minimalist design. The enamelling of the jug was achieved by first applying one colour, then firing it in a kiln, then the same process was carried out for the other colours. On the bottom is the traditional mark found on this type of object, indicating that the object was created in a limited series with the jug number and model number. Unfortunately, on our jug this mark is barely legible, but it exists and allows us to say that this object was produced between 1968 and 1971 in a craft workshop in the city of Dresden (then in East Germany), an important centre of porcelain and ceramic production. Fat Lava' is the name given to a certain style of East German artistic ceramics that became popular after the war, characterised by an extravagant amount of typical shapes, glazes, textures and colours ranging from dark brown to orange, forest green to cobalt blue, ruby red to canary yellow. The production strategy of the craftsmen of this style involved rather simple and strict shapes which, in combination with all the different decorations and coloured glazes, resulted in a very wide range of pieces. Our jug has beautiful and harmonious proportions and, thanks to this strong personality, can be incorporated into any style of décor. The jug is in excellent condition. Measures diameter 22 cm, height 30 cm. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, polystyrene, etc.) to ensure maximum protection and safety of the items.
