Item description
Fiandra sofa by Vico Magistretti for Cassina, 1970s. Put into production by Cassina in 1975. It consists of seating elements with simple lines and its name, Fiandra, evokes the "flat country," its solid trades and precious fabrics, transferring the idea of solidity to the comfort of seating. It is composed of modular elements that, attached to each other by a metal bracket screwed under the base, make up in-line and corner configurations. The basic elements, armchairs with or without armrests (right or left) are available in two widths, while only the armchair with two armrests and the pouf, which is coordinated, cannot be attached to the other elements. The feather cushion covers, attached by means of zippers, are removable. The sofa proposed here consists of five modules, arranged in this corner composition: two end armchairs with armrests (right and left), two middle armchairs without armrests, and a corner armchair. It can be differently decomposed by forming, alternately, a two-seater sofa with terminal armrests plus a two-seater sofa without armrests plus a corner armchair; a three-seater sofa with terminal armrests plus an armless armchair plus a corner armchair; a four-seater sofa plus a corner armchair.
