The Lia chair designed by Roberto Barbieri in 1998 for Molteni & C. was awarded the ADI Design Index 1998-1999. "In the sign of the continuity of a now consolidated research on the theme of chairs with an aluminium alloy structure, in 1999 Zanotta presented the Lia chair, which immediately revealed itself to be innovative for its advanced use of the die-casting technique: the side of the chair is made from a single aluminium alloy element that simultaneously incorporates the front leg, the back leg and the backrest. Roberto Barbieri's skill in designing this chair was also that of having skilfully combined an important technological innovation with a neutral and minimal formal connotation that can be easily adapted to any environment and furnishing style. In 1999 Roberto Barbieri designed the second version of the Lia chair, the one with armrests that we propose in the black leather version. It turns out to have a very comfortable seat set in a strong and essential structure: the seat and back are padded in polyurethane and the internal nylon fabric cover is removable as is the external cover, in black leather. Perfect condition.
