The lounge set is an original design object created in the 1970s by Claudio Salocchi (Milan, 1934-2012) for Sormani. Created in Italy in the second half of the 20th century. Made of rosewood and light yellow velvet. Armchairs: h. 68 x w. 85 x d. 85 cm - seat height: 41 cm. Sofa: h. 68 x w.195 x d. 85 cm - seat height: 41 cm. Salocchi was an Italian furniture and industrial designer and architect. He graduated in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic. Claudio Salocchi produced numerous furniture and lighting designs and, in parallel, devoted much time and effort to researching different applications of aluminium alloys, optimising furniture heights and layouts for work and home environments and using new and unfamiliar configurations that did not compromise the practicality of the piece. In 1960, Claudio Sormani designed his iconic Revolving bookcase for the Sormani furniture factory. In 1965 he set up his own design studio and in 1967 formalised what was to be a prolific collaboration with Sormani, for whom he went on to design, among others, the Palla polyurethane chair (1966), the Appogio polyurethane chair (1971), the Lia aluminium chair (1966), the Ellisse aluminium table (1967) and the Napoleon aluminium table (1973). In 1979, Salocchi was awarded the prestigious Compasso d'Oro for his work and research in the design of Metrsosistema domestic appliances with the manufacturer Alberti.
