Spanish noble carriage trunk dated 1742 on the top inside the iron family coat of arms. Original condition. This trunk is a remarkable and historically significant piece of furniture that combines the craftsmanship and design aesthetics of the 18th century. It is made primarily from Spanish spruce, a durable and attractive wood that was commonly used to make furniture in the 18th century. The iron elements of the trunk include decorative hardware, hinges and reinforcing bands. Iron was used in furniture of this era both as a structural support and for ornamental purposes.
