Item description
Great majestic lion made of hand-carved stone dating back to the second half of the 18th century. Excellent artistic quality, note the details of the muscles and the great mane. This large lion depicted in a moment of siesta embellished the entrance of a large park in an ancient residence in northern Italy. The lion symbol of strength and courage was often placed at the entrance of the houses as a symbol of power of the family that lived there. A perfect sculpture to be placed outdoors.
