Armchair 882 Ardea CM by Carlo Mollino for Zanotta

"The design of Carlo Mollino - architect-designer-photographer, aviator and car racer, from Turin, 1905-1973 - is a generator of zoomorphic forms, anatomical lines that curve drawing arabesques, sinuous trajectories like those left by skis in the snow or acrobatic planes in the sky. Carlo Mollino made use of a complex design vocabulary and a figurative alphabet that was both abstract and surrealist. For his designs he drew from a varied world of experiential references and micro-worlds that are still relevant and appreciable today". 882 Ardea CM (Homage to Carlo Mollino) is a bergère armchair for conversation that Zanotta produces as a tribute to the one designed by Mollino in 1946 for Casa Minola. The backrest is folded inward to create a headrest with "ears" in which to find a quieter, more collected dimension. In Ardea CM support is given to the whole body, thus providing renewed convenience and comfort. The armchair has black-painted wooden base, steel structure, polyurethane padding. The proposed piece has removable upholstery in red color stretch fabric. Display product in excellent condition; it has no marks or defects.
