The console table is a piece of furniture that reflects the design and style of the Louis Philippe period, which was prominent in France during the 19th century; this style is known for its simplicity and elegance. The console table includes curved, rounded lines and simple, understated ornaments in ebonised wood. This style departs from the more elaborate and ornate designs of earlier periods.
