Jules Perahim (born Iuliș Blumenfeld) was a Romanian artist of Jewish origin. After being associated with Surrealist circles in the early 1930s, he contributed to the early development of what would become Socialist Realism. Despite his success during the Communist regime, he became frustrated with the lack of artistic freedom and, at some point in the 1960s, left the country to settle in Paris, where he continued to paint in the Surrealist style.
