Item description
Set of six chairs in the style of Paolo Buffa, 1950s. Witnesses of that decade following World War II that wants to leave the past behind and demands, even in furniture, new and different lines, materials and colors. The chairs are built according to the Brianza craft tradition in solid light wood respecting the essential design of the structure. The seat is upholstered and covered with dark red skai, a material that was a novelty at the time and whose name comes from the brand name "Skai," marketed by a German company starting in the 1950s with the aim of replacing the more expensive leather. Skai "fabric," on the other hand, is a synthetic leather produced by impregnating a particular fabric with polyurethane resins, which in the set of chairs we offer is in a dark red color. Good condition: slight signs of time can be erased with a course of wood treatment that includes removing some woodworm and reupholstering the fabric under the seat; the skai, on the other hand, is in excellent condition.
