Empire-style mahogany feather extendable table with gilt bronze inserts made in France in the early 20th century. The oval-shaped top rests on a mahogany feather under-top band, which in turn is supported by four columns with finely chiseled gilt bronze base and capital. The four feet are connected by a mixtilinear cross and rest on the ground via four solid mahogany pads. The table is easily extendable by a pull-out mechanism that allows it to accommodate three original 50-cm extension leaves. The extended section is stably supported by feet that compass out from under the table making it perfectly stable and solid. Restored with traditional handmade shellac and alcohol method.
