Danish teak and black leather dormeuse by Horsens Mobelfabrik, 1960s

The Danish mid-century modern teak sofa bed, made by Horsens Møbelfabrik in the 1960s, exhibits the essence of mid-century design: proper proportions and functionality. The manufacturer's label is retained. The teak wood veneer frame and new black aniline leather upholstery make this mid-century bed elegant and comfortable. It shows excellent craftsmanship in properly selected teak wood matched in all parts and brass details. The bed features a quilted mattress with black leather upholstery with new foam inside and two decorative bolsters. The mattress rests on horizontal springs that cross the bed frame. The sofa bed is in fantastic condition after the complete renovation. The wood has been treated with layers of Danish oil and all springs have been checked. There is a small teak inlay in the bottom corner, but it is barely visible.
