Item description
Two columns in blue, brown and gold lacquered wood, handcrafted in Italy at the end of the 19th century, were located in a Sicilian noble palace at the four corners of a large hall; There are 4 columns available and they are sold in pairs. They exhibit characteristics associated with the Louis XVI design aesthetic, which emerged in the late 18th century during the reign of Louis XVI of France. This style is characterized by a move away from the extravagance of the Rococo period, embracing neoclassical influences, symmetry and refined elegance. The faux marble effect lacquered wood shows significant signs of use and age. This finish not only adds an aesthetic touch, but also protects the wood. The columns have an overall sense of grace and elegance, their construction reflecting a high level of skill and attention to detail.
