Item description

Chinese red silk satin fabric embroidered with polychrome silk yarn, 19th century. Central drawing depicting a crane with a lingzhi ("immortality mushroom") in its beak, enclosed within a circle; stylized clouds with symbolic motifs are embroidered at the four corners. The crane and the lingzhi are both symbols of longevity. Fabric mounted on wooden panel lined with cotton.
