Item description
For sale is a large and dramatic Murano glass chandelier, made in Italy in the early 1960s. Although the frame and glass tubes are not signed, it is clearly made in the style of Toni Zuccheri and Venini, two of the main protagonists of the glassmaking scene of the period. The surface treatment of the tubular glass, as well as the mixed light and grey colour of the tubes, are clear evidence of this. The pendant lamp is preserved in good condition given its age, and although some of the glass tubes show small signs of age, such as small dents or tiny cracks, these defects in no way compromise the presence of the assembled piece and are easy to disguise with skilful placement of the tubes. The chandelier consists of sixty individually suspended tubes and is in perfect working condition. It may have been rewired at some point.
