Item description
The Anfibio is one of the most recognisable and sought-after pieces of Italian design ever. Its popularity, however, does not derive from widespread distribution, as is the case with the Camaleonda sofa or the Arco floor lamp. Instead, the soft convertible sofa designed by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti Collezioni in 1970 is more of a cult object, a piece known only to a select niche of enthusiasts and collectors. We focus on researching and designing unique pieces for your interior, check out all our articles here on intOndo! With an elegant rounded shape, it is the ultimate in comfort, thanks in part to its wide armrests and enveloping backrest. Then, when needed, it unfolds easily and quickly to turn into a bed: a way to surprise your guests and offer them a cosy stay for the night! The piece we are proposing is an extremely rare iteration of the Amphibian, and this is for two reasons: firstly, it is a one-seater armchair, by far the hardest to find compared to the larger two- and three-seater sofas; secondly, it is upholstered in black corduroy - to our knowledge, the least used material for any version of the Amphibian. We are pleased to present this jewel of Italian design, preserved in excellent original condition, with only the predictable traces of wear and tear or damage.
