French Napoleon III Louis XVI style writing desk, second half of the 19th century. Elegantly inlaid furniture in walnut, rosewood, maple, mahogany, ebonized wood and fruit woods. Center-finished desk equipped with two drawers (see photo) and complete with a working key. Wooden top in character covered with finely worked leather with gilt decoration (see photo), of excellent size and service. Gilt brass top border (see photo). Furniture supported by four solid inverted pyramid truncated legs, also inlaid with bronze feet. Writing desk complete with gilt and chiseled bronzes of excellent quality. Ideal piece of furniture for inclusion in a study, parlor or living room, of beautiful line and proportion. It has a small lack of veneer on the top (see photo). Structurally solid desk, overall in good state of preservation.
