Item description
Pair of Golem chair by Vico Magistretti for Poggi, 1960s-70s. Ludovico "Vico" Magistretti (Milan, October 6, 1920 - Milan, September 19, 2006) was one of Italy's most important designers, architects and urban planners. His clean and essential design characterized and inspired the world of home, office and business furniture creation throughout the latter part of the 20th century. The professional history of furniture maker Roberto Poggi is exemplary and atypical. With his brother Ezio, he infuses the craftsmanship of his father Carlo, founder of the Pavia carpentry firm of the same name, into a production of innovative furniture in which it is possible to read both the legacy of the Lombard manufacturing tradition and the stimuli from Milan's postwar architectural and artistic culture.
