Author's reproduction of the famous "Portrait of Francesco Maria II della Rovere, Duke of Urbino" painted by Federico Barocci in 1572 and today conserved in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. An oil on canvas depicting the duke in his burnished armour surmounted by the ducal sash, the ruff worn around his neck according to Spanish fashion, his proud bearded face surrounded by a dark background. A canvas enclosed within a fine gilded frame in carved wood that echoes the motifs of the period. Painting signed by the author in the lower left-hand corner.
