Rare rhomboid lucite and silver metal box by Gabriella Crespi, 1970s. Lucite is a variety of polymethylmethacrylate, commonly plexiglass or perspex; this material was invented in the late 1920s as a substitute for glass and was immediately popular because it was cheaper and more durable. The box has the artist's engraved signature in the metal part. It is in very good preserved condition, with no damage or breaks, only some slight signs of time visible in the photos. This item is a very rare collector's item made by one of Italy's greatest designers and will add luster and sophistication to your environments. This series of boxes was made in Italy in the 1970s' by Gabriella Crespi, a designer and sculptor who began her production in the 1950s after graduating from the Milan Polytechnic; her design was highly appreciated by the personalities of the time and she collaborated with major brands such as Tiffany, Dior and many others.
