Marcel Wanders (Boxtel, 1963) graduated with honors from the Arnhem Art Institute in 1988. In 1995 he opened a studio in Amsterdam, quickly coming to the attention of critics in 1996, thanks to his iconic Knotted Chair, which integrates high-tech materials and low-tech manufacturing techniques. Today Wanders is a particularly prolific interior and product designer, as well as artistic director of over 1700 projects for private clients and prestigious brands such as Magis, Alessi, Bisazza, KLM, Flos, Swarovski, Puma and many others.
