Item description

Padina/P2 recessed or wall lamp designed by Achille Castiglioni in collaboration with his brother Pier Giacomo and produced by Flos in 1966. Six lamps available (price per piece). Complete with original box. A formal and technical synthesis of a lighting concept, Padina is a concentrated and reflected light fixture. The casing, which contains the lamp holder, is obtained from a single sheet of aluminum with a wavy, mirror-polished surface on the inside, convex on the outside. The light emitted by the incandescent source, left exposed, is thus multiplied in a series of concentric circles. Created and reproduced in various versions, the P2 model of the lamp recesses into the wall, emanating direct and reflected light, and is complete with a galvanized metal stand, with a bakelite lamp holder and no visible wire.
