Murano glass 'Arado' vase with reed work, created by Alessandro Mendini for Venini in 1988. Dimensions Ø 14 cm, h 38 cm. Alessandro Mendini has been among the innovators of Italian design since the late 1970s. He has worked for numerous companies such as Alessi, Venini, Bisazza, Cartier, Hermes, Sumpreme NYC, Swatch, Swarovski and many others. He has received numerous international awards, including the Italian industrial design award Compasso d'Oro in 1979; in 1981 together with I study Alchemy and in 2014 for his life's work. He has edited many architecture magazines including Domus, Casabella and Modo, which he founded.
