Mid-century solid walnut extending table with a drawer on the short side. This table was made with a very simple and linear structure, characterised by solid turned legs and equipped with a drawer and an enormous and practical internal compartment. The top can be extended to double the size to accommodate more guests at the table.
This type of table in the 19th century was used in Italian family kitchens and women would prepare the dough on the open top and leave it in the inner compartment while it rose. It has some defects with scratches on the surface of the wood, however it is still in good original condition, consistent with its age and use. Width 120 cm x Height 66.5 cm x Depth 79 cm. Weight: approx. 37 kg.
