Red and Blue chair by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld for MDF Italia, 1990. Red and Blue in lacquered wood in four colours, produced by MDF Italia in 1990, design by Gerrit T. Rietveld 1923. Thirty-five years old and in excellent condition. Minimal marks. Very slight superficial signs of use on the artefact, mainly concentrated on the seat. Limited, very slight abrasions on the corners. Beautiful. The structure and surfaces are OK. MDF Italia is the Milan-based furniture design, planning and production company taken over in 2013 by the Cassina holding company. In February 2014 the group led by Poltrona Frau is acquired by the American company Haworth. MDF Italia produced for Cassina in the 1990s and 2000s. The Red and Blu was in the MDF Italia catalogue with code 2801 on pages 136 and 137. Measurements L. 66 cm, W. 83 cm, H. 88 cm, H.S. 35 cm.
