Item description
Sculptural solid brass floor lamp, 1950s. Finely hand-decorated base and shade and extruded structure. The stem has a peculiar "gear" section, while the other parts - the base and the heart-shaped shade - are smooth with an interesting "bark" decoration, clearly hand-made, reminiscent of the works of the famous sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro, just like the beds he designed with Osvaldo Borsani. The lamp is very well preserved, still shiny but with a rich, uniform and very pleasant patina that confirms its origin. It is fully functioning, as the attached pictures show. It was rewired at some point in its life and currently operates by means of a sliding switch with dimmer, which, however, can easily be converted to a normal one.
