Item description
Pair of matching walnut wardrobes, 1950s. The two pieces, designed with exquisite attention to detail - such as the feet, the decorative quality of the drawer handles and the tapering of the door panels - recall the Italian architecture of the period, strongly reminiscent of Gio Ponti's Pirelli Skyscraper and of other buildings in Milan. The legs are a design piece in their own right, thanks to the geometric and sculptural wooden supports and the tapered screwed brass feet, which are also extremely useful for leveling furniture on an uneven floor. The two wardrobes, painted in the same brownish shade and clearly made and sold together, look great when placed side by side but can obviously be placed in two separate rooms. In fact, each wardrobe offers enough space to be used alone. Overall condition is really good, with predictable signs of time but no damage or excessive wear.
