This magnificent kneeler in solid walnut dates back to the 18th century and belonged to the famous Prince Ambrogio II Caracciolo, a Neapolitan noble patrician of the period. Ambrogio II Caracciolo, born in Pollena in 1755 and died in Naples in 1818, was a figure of great importance in the history of the Kingdom of Naples. He was the 3rd Prince of Torchiarolo and a passionate collector of works of art and antiquities. In 1775, Ambrogio II married Maria Teresa Sanchez de Luna, a union that marked an important chapter in the history of the Caracciolo family. Over the years, he amassed a vast collection of precious objects, including this splendid kneeler. In 1788, Ambrose II was even appointed honorary inspector for the conservation of antiquities and fine arts, demonstrating his commitment to preserving the region's cultural heritage. The kneeler you see here represents not only an extraordinary piece of art, but also a tangible testimony to the rich history and elegance of the nobles of the past. Dimensions: 200cm x 42cm x 82cm
