Item description

Modular teak hanging bookcase in the style of Poul Cadovius made in Denmark in the 1960s. It is a fully modular three-compartment shelving system. It resembles Cadovius bookcases from the same period and is of very similar quality. The sandblasted glass door with diamond pattern is the most decorative part, without taking into account the beautiful teak wood. The cabinet features interchangeable parts that can be arranged as needed using a simple brass docking system with regular slots in the solid wood rails. It has two 40 cm deep shelves, which can be used as a compact desk when the lower one is dismantled (it only takes a few seconds); for this reason we believe it is ideal for office work, also thanks to the two side cabinets which offer space for documents, files, etc. The piece is a fine example of mid-century Danish joinery, visible in the finely crafted edges and molded solid teak handles. The two cabinets with sliding doors are 50 cm high, 80 cm wide and 41 cm deep. The cabinet with glass door and internal shelf is 50 cm high, 80 cm wide and 22 cm deep. The six shelves are 20 cm deep. The two desk shelves are 40 cm deep. The display shelf is 31 cm deep. The four uprights are 198 cm long. Our team carefully checked the bookcase: all components fit together and all doors work properly. It has been completely restored with Danish oil and other professional products. It looks almost new, even though it is 60 years old. All interiors have been checked and cleaned.
