Item description

We advise you to read the entire description, as we try to provide you with detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Iconic and original Murano yellow opaline glass vase; the vase was blown in a single piece without joints; the most difficult and particular operation was to leave the yellow opaline on the inside and make the outside with several colours; various coloured oxides were applied when the draft of the yellow opaline vase had already left the kiln; at the exact moment when the oxides began to blend and amalgamate with the yellow, the craftsman began to blow and shape the vase into the desired shape, quickly, so that the colours would only settle on the surface of the object without penetrating it, as if they were brushstrokes, accentuating the blurred effect, then he continued to blow, continuously turning the vase so that the different colours were distributed like a psychedelic fluid in a harmonious way, forming a surprising and magnificent artistic work, then he put the vase back in the kiln for a very short time and then quickly cooled it; An operation that not everyone is capable of doing, in fact it is only delegated to master glassmakers. The vase was made in an artisan's kiln in Murano between 1970 and 1975; the craftsmen, like many others in Murano, were inspired by an iconic Murano vase: the 'Fazzoletto' model created by Fulvio Bianconi, a versatile Venetian designer and artist, and produced by Ditta Venini, one of the oldest and most important companies in Murano; this vase, inspired by the movement of women's skirts in the wind, is featured in all the world's exhibitions and publications and in many museums around the world. However, whoever is the maker of our vase, its creation makes it unique in its skilfully juxtaposed colours and confirms to us that the Venetian aptitude, celebrated over the centuries, for working with glass is an alchemic combination of the material elaborated by artisan intelligence with felicitous artistic intuition; since ancient times, Venetian craftsmen have protected and handed down the Art of Glass, always giving us precious and unique works that fascinate us with their beauty. The vase is in excellent condition, it has been made entirely by hand and any 'small imperfections' or bubbles are typical of the craftsmanship of glass that is more precious than industrial. Measures diameter 25 cm, height 34 cm. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (custom-made wooden crates, polystyrene, etc.) to ensure maximum protection and safety of the objects.
