Item description

Petits Contes à ma Sœur is a lithograph on paper made by Hégésippe Moreau, dated c. 1838. The work is in good condition except for some blooming that does not affect the image. Hégésippe Moreau (1810-1838) was a French lyric poet. The Romantic myth was consolidated by the publication of his complete works; Moreau's work has a strong note of imitation of André Chénier, Pierre-Jean de Béranger and Auguste-Marseille Barthelemy. His most important works are: La Voulsie, the novel La Fermire, and The Mysotis. Moreau wrote some fascinating prose stories: Le Gui de chene, La Souris blanche, Contes à ma Sœur.
