Item description
Totem RR-130 radio phonograph designed by Mario Bellini for Brionvega. Extremely rare, the Totem was designed in 1970 after the more famous RR-126, which is due to its rarity as it is less known and widespread than the flagship designed by the Castiglioni Brothers. When closed, the radiophonograph looks like a cube measuring 51 cm on each side. The upper part opens and reveals the speakers which can be extracted if desired to position them further away, and the control panel. The dual turntable is protected by two removable interlocking doors and in the housing there is a push light to illuminate the controls on the turntable. From the control panel you can change and adjust the various acoustic settings and select the radio and the various stations or start the turntable. The totem is in excellent conservative condition, it has some defects, inevitable given its age, on the body. The acoustics are perfect and both the radio and the record player work. The radio also comes with its original instructions. Mario Bellini is an Italian architect and designer, winner of eight gold compassos, more than one of his works is present at the MoMA in New York, including the Brionvega Totem.
