A modular mid-century teak bookcase, highly functional, designed in the 1960s by Poul Cadovius, father of the world's first wall shelving systems characterised by flexibility and space-saving, and manufactured by his company Cado.
The presented wall cabinet features a minimalist design, brilliant joinery and attention to detail, most visible in the well-integrated handles and the beautifully woven front of one of the cabinets. The set includes a spacious cabinet with sliding doors and two interior shelves; a display cabinet with a gold sandblasted motif in the form of a royal on glass; two cabinets with drop-down doors, one of which can be used as a bar cabinet and the other as a secretaire; a neat console with two elegant drawers and storage compartments, and eleven shelves of varying depths. This piece of furniture will elegantly fill an entire wall, offering plenty of space to store and display books and decorations. At the same time, thanks to the large spaces between the components and the aesthetically pleasing yet robust mounting system, it does not give the impression of being overloaded. One of the cupboards can serve as a concealed desk. With its internal shelf for documents, laptops and accessories, it is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and is ideal for creating a discreet home office space in the living room. This shelving system is entirely modular, all parts can be interchanged and set up as desired, using an easy system of brass hangers and wooden supports inserted into solid wood rails. The set-up shown is just an example. Our team has inspected the wall unit. It is in excellent original condition, with minimal signs of use related to its age. Some shelves are engraved 'Made in Denmark', confirming the authenticity of the piece's origin. We have ensured that all mechanisms and assembly work correctly and smoothly. The wood has been cleaned and preserved with layers of Danish oil to enhance the beauty of the teak grain.
