Item description
Two-bay teak bookcase by Kai Kristiansen for FM Møbler (Denmark), 1960s. It showcases the mastery of mid-century Danish craftsmanship. The manufacturer's label has been preserved. This bookcase comes with two cabinets, each with an adjustable shelf/tray, and six shelves, which provide enough space for storing items and books. It is an entirely modular shelving system and can be arranged as needed with a simple system of metal elements that fit into the uprights, moving all the parts up and down and swapping them. Four shelves are 18 cm deep, the other two 24 cm. The two cabinets with sliding doors and adjustable shelf/tray are 50 cm high, 86 cm wide and 42 cm deep. The three painted metal uprights are 198 cm long each. The bookcase has been carefully checked: all components fit together; the wood was cleaned and protected with Danish oil. Small signs of use are left which do not ruin the aesthetics of the furniture and only confirm its originality. The bookcase is in excellent vintage condition with minor age-related signs of wear.
