Item description

We recommend that you read the entire description, as we try to provide you with detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our items. An elegant and refined French Louis XVI style bench made of gilded wood using the 'gold leaf' method; the four legs tapering downwards have been painted with white lacquer and the carved grooves have been gilded, creating a pleasant contrast of colours; the cushion is firmly attached to the frame and the seat is wide and comfortable. The bench was made between 1925 and 1930 in a craft workshop in Lyon, an important centre of furniture production since the 17th century; the city was known for its Renaissance and Rococo furniture. The bench was recently handed over to an old master craftsman from Prato, who handmade the new cushion cover with skill and precision. We would like to remind you that the city of Prato is considered the largest textile centre in the world, and its craftsmen and highly specialised companies are a reference point for creativity, quality and excellence. The Master used an innovative fabric, with a black and white pattern, very particular and important: the robust velvet with Dedar technique from the Collectional collection. It is one of the most expensive and exclusive products in the company's range. The Devorè style, also known as 'burn out style', is a technique, introduced in the 1920s, that chemically eliminates one of the fibres used in weaving, according to a precise design; Devorè printing is one of the most fascinating types of printing that allows us to obtain fabrics that would otherwise be impossible to produce, such as the textured velvet, or Devorè velvet. Dedar is an old textile company from Lombardy with a production of excellence thanks to its artisans and textile experts, masters in the techniques used to create exclusive and original fabrics; Dedar expresses a very personal style in its products, creating collections that are always at the forefront of high fashion furnishing fabrics; the Italian style and design of the Lombard company are famous throughout the world. Our bench has taken on a personal and unrepeatable charm, becoming a discreet and innovative furnishing accessory, capable of creating calm and tranquil atmospheres, lending romanticism and refinement to any type of furnishing. Having been restored, the bench is in excellent condition. Measurements width 66 cm, depth 46 cm, height 46 cm, seat 46 cm. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, polystyrene, etc.) to ensure maximum protection and safety of the items.
