Item description
Murano glass Elica wall light by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, 1960s-70s. Four pieces available (price per single lamp). The son of animal painter Luigi Zuccheri, Toni Zuccheri inherited a passion for animals, recurring subjects in his creations. He attended the faculty of architecture in Venice under the guidance of Gardella, Albini, Scarpa and Samonà. He began his collaboration with Venini in the 1960s; his first glass works, following the family tradition, were animals made in polychrome glass with precious techniques, such as "murrine". In 1965 he began collaborating with Gio Ponti, with whom he designed a new type of product, the "Vetrate Grosse". He later expanded his glass production with new colors and subjects, participating in numerous exhibitions around the world. Over the course of one hundred years of history and passion, Venini has preserved and interpreted a unique artistic heritage rooted in the Venetian culture of the 1200s, giving life to unmistakable works capable of fusing together the profound knowledge of tradition and the charm of contemporary aesthetics. Recently this brand of excellence has been part of the Damiani group, which promotes the profound values of Made in Italy, beauty and savoir fair internationally with its creations.
