Item description
Refined Italian painting from the second half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas work signed G. Bottero on the bottom left, referable to the Italian painter Giuseppe Bottero (1846-1930), lacking authentication. A painting with a curious and at the same time witty subject, we find a painter in eighteenth-century Venetian clothes portraying a dog in his studio. Large oil painting on canvas, first canvas, of notable pictorial quality. In fact, the naturalistic details and the use of the chiaroscuro technique are noteworthy in a painting where the figures stand out brightly in the center of the composition while the rest remains in darkness. 20th century frame in carved and gilded wood, beautifully decorated, with some signs of aging (see photo). Painting that has undergone conservative restoration with color recovery in some places (see photo). Overall, it is in a good state of conservation. Painting light H 91.5 x W 70.5 cm.
