Table lamp from the Membrane series by Toni Zuccheri for Venini, 1970s. Chromed metal base and bowl-shaped shade made of Murano glass, worked with a special technique that gives rise to membrane-like internal inclusions. The inner membrane is made of milky glass while the outside is made of crystalline glass; the technique and the juxtaposition of the two colors create wonderful plays of light. The Membrane series was presented at the Venice Biennale in 1972. Toni Zuccheri was an architect from Friuli who began his career as a glass modeler with Venini's own glassworks. The lamp is in excellent conservation condition, is in working order and has no major defects, only a slight patina due to time.
