Venice, 18th century. Wooden coffee table, 76 x 73 x 53 cm. Small and refined, this elegant walnut coffee table has a small central drawer and is finely carved with delicate plant and scroll motifs with a central shell. The refinement and taste for detail are typical of 18th-century Venetian cabinet-making, famous for creating tables and consoles characterised by the lightness of the serpentine line and the supple arches of the en cabriole supports.
